At a glance

  • TimeTracker is a desktop app for 64-bit Windows 11.
  • The installer is a single file, and it adds anything else TimeTracker needs.
  • Windows may show a warning the first time. This page shows how to carry on.
  • Uninstalling does not delete your data.

This page walks you through installing TimeTracker, the warning Windows may show the first time, and what uninstalling does and does not remove.

Download TimeTracker

TimeTracker is in beta (version 0.9.0). There is no public download yet. The download will be published when TimeTracker 1.0 is released.

The installer is a single file called timetracker-amd64-installer.exe.

System Status
64-bit Windows 11 Supported
Windows 10 Not supported: it has not been tested there
Mac, Linux, phone, tablet or browser There is no version for these

Run the installer

  1. Double-click timetracker-amd64-installer.exe.

  2. Windows asks whether to allow the installer to make changes to your computer. Choose Yes.

  3. Follow the installer’s pages. TimeTracker installs to C:\Program Files\TimeTracker.

  4. The last page offers to start TimeTracker for you.

If Windows says “Windows protected your PC”

The installer is not yet signed with a code-signing certificate. Until it is, Windows SmartScreen (Windows’ check on downloaded programs) may show a blue box saying “Windows protected your PC” the first time you run it.

  1. Click More info.
  2. Click Run anyway.

The installer then carries on as normal.

Install over a running copy

You do not need to close TimeTracker before you install a new copy over it. If it is running, the installer closes it first.

Uninstall TimeTracker

You can uninstall TimeTracker the way you remove any other Windows program.

If you want your data gone as well, you have to delete it yourself. See Your data and privacy for where it is kept.
